My name is Judy Schramm, and I’m the CEO of ProResource. ProResource is a learning community for small business owners who want to learn how to outsource work to freelancers, consultants, virtual assistants and anyone else who works part-time at a remote location.
ProResource is an outgrowth of my 3rd business, JMR Consulting, which is a marketing and PR firm that I have run since 1994.
JMR is a virtual company. We have clients and team members around the world, most of whom I have never met.
I believe this is a great way to run a business. It has allowed me to earn a good living and be available for my kids as they grow up.
But it has taken a lot of trial and error to make things work well. Being on both sides of outsourcing – being a vendor of outsourced services and being someone who does outsourcing and has to manage a virtual team - has given me a really good education about how to make outsourcing work well (and how many things can go wrong).
This blog is about the things that work - and the things that don’t - so we all can get better at using outsourcing in our businesses.
