Easy project - Set up a referral system
Where do your clients or customers come from?
About 90% comes from referrals, if you’re like most freelancers, consultants and small businesses.
So if you want more business, the least expensive, simplest, and most effective way to get it is to increase the number of referrals you get.
But you are probably as uncomfortable asking for referrals as I am.
So here’s how you get around that…
You build a list of people who could reasonably refer business to you, and you mail them something about your business every month.
Typically, it would be something educational, that demonstrates the value you provide. But it might be something fun. Or it might be a special offer.
The idea is that you get in front of them on a regular basis.
You get mindshare, you show that exciting things are happening in your business, you educate about the value you provide, and you demonstrate credibility that you can deliver what you promise.
And in some of the mailings - not all of them - you mention that if they know someone who might use your products or services, you’d love a referral.
That’s all.
Very lightweight, very easy.
Anyone can do it.
It works for any business.
And - here’s the best part - this is a perfect project for your virtual assistant.
So after you have helped build the list and decided what to send, someone else actually does all the work.
It simply rolls out each month, with virtually no effort on your part.
And you get referrals and leads.
We’re offering this as an “Easy Project” in ProResource.
That means we have written up the instructions. You get specific instructions that you can provide to your virtual assistant. (Yes, you can do it yourself if you want. But this is a really good project to outsource.)
And we have a weekly workshop where you and/or your assistant can get on the call, ask questions and get them answered. So you get help as you are figuring out how to do the project for your specific business.
Plus there’s a discussion forum if you don’t want to wait for the call.
