More and more virtual assistants
I just got quoted in an article in Web Worker Daily on “Web Worker Careers: Virtual Assistant.”
It has been fascinating to watch as this career has grown by leaps and bounds over the past couple years.
Even a year ago relatively few people knew what a virtual assistant was - but that is changing rapidly.
Today, when I talk about outsourcing to virtual assistants almost everyone knows what I am talking about.
And an increasing number of people are looking for jobs in this field. We probably get a half dozen people a week contacting us to see if we are hiring virtual assistants - totally unsolicited.
Part of it is the economy - lots of people who are looking for jobs or need a second job are finding that becoming a virtual assistant is an ideal choice.
You work from home, you can work as many or as few hours as you want, and it doesn’t require an extensive investment in equipment to get started.
But I think a lot of it is just that this is an idea whose time has come.
